The novel species of tRNAGly from Staphylococcus epidermidis Texas 26 which function in peptidoglycan synthesis but not in protein synthesis have been sequenced. Two closely related sequences are found differing at seven positions. tRNAGlyia has the sequence pG-C-G-G-G-A-G-s4U-AG-U-U-C-A-A-U-U-U-D-A-G-A-A-C-A-C-A-U-U-C-C-U-UC-C-C-G-G-A-A-U-G-A-G-G-U-A-U-A-G-G-U-G-C-A-A-GU-C-C-U-A-U-C-U-U-C-C-G-C-U-C-C-Aoh and tRNAGlyib has the sequence pG-C-G-G-G-A-G-s4U-A-U-U-U-C-A-A-C-UU-U-D-A-G-A-A-U-A-C-G-U-U-C-C-U-U-C-C-C-G-G-A-AC-G-A-G-A-U-A-U-A-G-G-U-G-C-A-A-A-U-C-C-U-A-U-CU-U-C-C-G-C-U-C-C-Aoh.
