Nickel ions inhibit histone demethylase JMJD1A and DNA repair enzyme ABH2 by replacing the ferrous iron in the catalytic centers.

There were several errors in this article. The Coomassie blue stain of Flag-JMJD1A in supplemental Fig. S2 was inadvertently duplicated in Fig. 1A. Additionally, the highest dose of Ni2+ used in Fig. 1A should read 250 μm instead of 150 μm. These errors have now been corrected and do not affect the results or conclusions of this work.
