On the Cover
The cover shows the crystal structure of frataxin superimposed on an electron micrograph of a mitochrondrion. Fratazin function is diminished in the mitochondria of patients with Friedreich's ataxia, an inherited neurodegenerative disorder. The structure of a frataxin reveals a novel protein fold. Structural findings are used further to predict potential modes of action, as reported in the paper by Dhe-Paganon et al., pages 30753-30756.30753.
