On the Cover

The cover shows Conus catus half buried in sand to ambush an unsuspecting fish. Piscivorous cone snails have evolved w-conotoxin (shown in ribbon form) for rapid prey immobilization. N-type selective w-conotoxins such as CVID are also proving useful in the treatment of pain. Details can be found in the article by Lewis et al., pages 35335-35344.35335
