On the Cover

The cover shows the core binding facter (CBF) subunit. Shown in red are alanine substitutions at four residues identified as contacts in the crystal structure of the Runx1(AML1)-CBF hterodimer (Warren, A. J., Bravo, J., Williams, R. L., and Rabbitts, T. H. (2000) EMBO J. 19, 3004-3115). Also shown are the energetic effects of these mutations on the heterodimerization of CBF with the DNA-binding domain of Runx1.
