About the Cover
The cover figure represents the structure of the ATP synthase complex from E. coli. The Reflections by Paul Boyer published in this issue (for details see pages 39045-39061) describes the discovery and history of research on oxidative phosphorylation. He also details the development of the binding change mechanism for oxidative phosphorylation, the discovery for which he received a share of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1997. The figure was kindly provided by Richard Cross.
