The cover shows an immunofluorescent image with differential interference contrast demonstrating preservation of mitochondrial membrane potential (m) within processes of neurons treated with liposome-encapsulated NAD+ prior to exposure to peroxynitrite. The image was obtained by Laura Sysko and Nancy Burke in the Center for Biological Imaging, University of Pittsburgh, using an Olympus IX70 microscope.
