On the cover, the arh gene encodes an adaptor protein that is necessary for low density lipoprotein (LDL) endocytosis in humans. Immunohistochemistry of ARH-knockout mouse liver shows redistribution of endogenous LDL receptors from endosomal compartments to the sinusoidal surface of hepatocytes.
