About the Cover
The cover shows the distribution of SNARE fusion proteins in the plasma membrane of a chromaffin cell. Syntaxin and SNAP-25 are highly coincident on the plasma membrane as represented by the three-dimensional plot of their colocalized intensities on a color-coding scale (red, high intensity). In planar confocal sections of the plasma membrane (bottom) both SNAP-25 (green) and syntaxin (red) exist in defined clusters exhibiting almost perfect overlap in the merged image. These clusters likely represent docking and fusion sites for secretory vesicles. For details see the article by Rickman et
al., pages 644-651.
