About the Cover
The cover photomicrograph shows implantation-specific uterine prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2 (Ptgs2) mRNA expression (autoradiographic bright grains) by in situ hybridization in luminal epithelium and a few layers of subepithelial stromal cells exclusively in the vicinity of the implanting blastocyst on day 5 of pregnancy. Evidence suggests that Ptgs2-derived PGE2 is critical for implantation in the hamster. For details see the article by Wang et al., pages 30579-30587.
