About the Cover

Cover Figure

The cover shows transition state analogues for human and malarial purine nucleosidase phosphorylases (PNPs). 4'-Deaza-1'-aza-2'-deoxy-1'-(9-methylene) (DADMe)-Immucillin-H (black stick model) is shown competing with inosine (color stick model) in the active site cavity of human PNP containing PO4. Fragments of the catalytic site are shown in space-filling and electrostatic representations. The "slow-onset" inhibition curves and reaction coordinate characterizing the transition state are shown in the background. For details see the article by Lewandowicz et al., pages 30320–30328.
