On The Cover: Crystal structure of a hexamer of mammalian glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH), showing the location of an H454Y gain of function mutation associated with a dominant form of congenital hyperinsulinism in children. Transgenic mice expressing the human H454Y mutant GDH in pancreatic β-cells have spontaneous hypoglycemia and are hyper-responsive to stimulation of insulin secretion by amino acids. For details see the article by Li et al., pages 15064–15072.
