On The Cover: The cover depicts the unique four-coordinate mononuclear iron center (orange sphere) of cysteine dioxygenase (CDO) chelated by three histidines and a water molecule (red sphere). The active site is contained within the central portion of the canonical cupin β-sandwich. The substrate binding pocket also contains a rare intramolecular cross-link between Cys93-Sγ and Tyr157-Cε2. The image was generated with PyMOL. For details see the article by Simmons et al., pages 18723–18733.
