About the Cover
On The Cover: MutSα, which recognizes mismatched base pairs in human cells, forms a molecular complex with the DNA replication clamp PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen). The mesh corresponds to the molecular envelope of a 1:1 complex of the two proteins in solution as determined by small angle x-ray scattering. The dimensions of the envelope can accommodate the known crystal structures of the two proteins. For details see the article by lyer et al., pages 13310–13319.
