IMPORTANT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
As of Monday, March 30 at 12 noon EDT, the JBC will be operating on a new Bench Press submission system. In order to make this transition, the current submission site for JBC will shut down Monday, March 30 at 12 noon EDT. All submissions sent prior to March 30 that are not able to be processed due to additional information needed will be sent back to the author for re-submission on the new system. Because Bench Press uses a shared registration system, if an author is already registered with another journal that uses the Bench Press system, there is no need to complete the full registration process outlined below. Login to the site using your existing email and password. The author will, however, need to complete a profile page. When submitting to the new system, login using the following URL: http://submit.jbc.org
Nancy Rodnan Director of Publications Resources for AuthorsAuthors are encouraged to review the following information before beginning their manuscript submission : Instructions to Authors for a description of JBC's style and format requirements for manuscripts for review. Online submission instructions for information on the online submission process and requirements. JBC Editorial Policies for an overview of JBC’s publication policies. Papers in Press and Open Access information. Other information of interest Copyright Permission - Information for authors who have already published in the JBC and are thinking of reusing material elsewhere. Guidelines for preparing digital images for submission Rapid Inspector – Use the Rapid Inspector software to check your figure files (TIFF or EPS) against JBC standards for format, resolution, color space and other figure requirements before you submit them to the Redactory office. JBC and the Repository for NIH Sponsored Research Instructions on obtaining a PMC ID for an accepted paper Language Assistance. Authors who are not native English speakers may appreciate assistance with grammar, vocabulary, and style when submitting papers to the JBC. This can help maximize the accuracy and impact of the journal submission as well as aid in communicating ideas to fellow scientists and the JBC editors and reviewers. Several companies provide revising, editing, and proofreading services for scientific and medical research documents. These include: www.bioedit.co.uk: An English editing company which provides editing and proofreading services to researchers. Please note that neither the JBC nor ASBMB has used these services and thus cannot attest to the quality of their work. Updated April. 14, 2009
