Many medical education studies in neonatology have tried to identify and address learners’ needs for delivery room education.^1–3 A survey of Canadian pediatric residency graduates⁴ showed that a minority self-reported competency in neonatal procedures and resuscitation. Although certain studies sought to enhance resident education by utilizing fellows as teachers⁵ or by using simulation,^4–8 there have been few studies on fellows teaching residents using simulation. Hansen et al⁹ concluded that formal resident education should involve residents on night float as well as those present during the daytime hours.
