On The Cover: Examples of dendrites from hippocampal neurons transfected with Myc-SALM1 700A and GFP (green) at 12 DIV and surface-stained with an N-terminal SALM1 antibody (S1NT) 48 h later. The loss of the dileucine motif at amino acid residue 700 enhances SALM1 surface expression and increases filopodia and dendritic process formation.
